When Coraline steps through a door in her family’s new house, she finds another house, strangely similar to her own (only better). At first, things seem marvelous. The food is better than at home, and the toy box is filled with fluttering wind-up angels and dinosaur skulls that crawl and rattle their teeth.

But there’s another mother there and another father, and they want her to stay and be their little girl. They want to change her and never let her go. Coraline will have to fight with all her wit and all the tools she can find if she is to save herself and return to her ordinary life.

This beloved tale has now become a visual feast. Acclaimed artist P. Craig Russell brings Neil Gaiman’s enchanting nationally bestselling children’s book Coraline to new life in this gorgeously illustrated graphic novel adaptation.

So I’ve l already rated and written a review for Coraline but I’m gonna write a tiny review for the graphic novel version

I thought the graphic novel was a nice version of the book.

The colors throughout the book were pretty bland which is what I expected. Coraline’s world is described as pretty boring so it’s no surprise the graphic novel would be portrayed as pretty mute.

I thought the illustrator did a great job at capturing the creepiness of the other world. If I was a child reading this I’d be thoroughly crept at. The other mother with her eyes looks super weird and I love it. The other father in the basement was even creepier.

If you’re not wanting to read a book and prefer graphic novels I would definitely suggest picking this one up. The adaption sticks pretty straight to the actual novel so you wouldn’t be missing out on anything.
